This weekend was spent in the lovely hamlet of Girdwood. A little downhill skiing, a little xcountry skiing, a little pool time, and a lot of fun with friends.
Despite the sub zero temps, it was very nice to be outside chasing the sun, and it finally feels as though we might be rounding the bend and gaining on winter.
This pic was taken on the drive home, thru a dirty and cracked windshield. I added this funky texture layer in photo editing. Like, or dislike? |

Sorry, it's not going to be a favourite of mine, I had to peer at it and just thought it was mucky. On the other hand - I love the 3rd and 4th photos. Is that a mist rising in the first one?
Indeed! lots of mist coming off the moving ice, in and out of the inlet. Thanks for looking, and commenting. Its been so cold here, but daylight is gaining rapidly.
i'm stealing these pictures and posting them on facebook. don't be mad, i'll reference you!!!
They're well worth 'stealing'. I drool over the photos on this blog, my last comment not withstanding. Takes me back to my few months in Alaska and makes me yearn to return. They're very atmospheric...is that the right word? - they draw me in and make me feel I'm there - certainly wish I was there!
Beth, you are FUNNY! No prob. Sweet Malmesbury, Thak you always for the nice comments and when are you coming back to AK for a visit?
